Pixelated Logos - Stop the Madness!

Hey guys, I just have to put out a quick rant about some very pixelated logos that I saw this weekend as I was flipping through a Community Guide. I put a little bit of this on the sales reps; you guys have a job to do to educate your customers and make sure that they are providing you with the materials that you need to create an ad for them. This means more than just sending them a digital proof and letting them sign off on it, knowing full well that when it actually prints, it’s not going to look very nice. Walk them through the process, show them a hard copy, and make sure that what you’re putting out for your customer, and your publication is going to look nice.

Now this isn’t all on the sales reps, the customers have a job to do as well. It’s really important that you invest in your logo. This means hiring a graphic designer who can give you a vector format of your logo. This is going to give you the most versatility as far as what you can do creatively with your logo. At the very least, make sure that you have a high resolution .jpg that you can use. This is going to allow you to put your best face forward regardless of what advertising venue or opportunities you choose to pursue.

Thanks!
